Google has released a Google Earth iPad app and it rocks! This free app brings the desktop Google Earth to the iPad and utilizes the iPad’s multitouch interface for zooming in and out, panning left and right, and twisting orientation.
I found the using my WiFi only iPad worked surprisingly well with the determining the location of where I was and only off probably 20 feet. That’s pretty crazy, I know! However, it would not surprise me if others received a different result. I have been told the 3G iPad with it’s built-in GPS works quite well.
If you use Google Maps and save maps to your account you will be pleasantly surprised that the Google Earth iPad app allows for you to enter in your Google Account information and it will pull in and display your saved maps.
